About Us
MARLIN FIREARMS AMERICA.
Marlin Firearms is an American manufacturer that specializes in the production of rifles and firearms. The company was founded in 1870 by John Mahlon Marlin in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin initially started as a manufacturer of revolvers, but it gained prominence for its lever-action rifles, which became some of the most iconic firearms in American history. One of Marlin's most famous and enduring products is the Marlin Model 336 lever-action rifle, which was introduced in 1948. This rifle is known for its reliability, durability, and smooth action. It has been a popular choice for hunting and sport shooting for many decades. In addition to the Model 336, Marlin also produced other lever-action rifles, such as the Marlin Model 1895 and Model 1894, which were chambered in various calibers to accommodate different types of shooting applications.
Marlin Firearms has gone through various ownership changes over the years. In 2007, the Remington Arms Company acquired Marlin, but due to financial difficulties, Marlin’s operations were disrupted. In 2010, Marlin was purchased by the Freedom Group, which later became the Remington Outdoor Company. However, Remington Outdoor Company faced financial challenges and filed for bankruptcy in 2020.
